Brian Burke is President & CEO of Praxis Capital, Inc., a vertically integrated real estate private equity investment firm, which he founded in 2001. Brian is also a member of the Praxis Investment Committee. Praxis operates on multiple platforms, currently managing active syndications for the acquisition of single-family, multifamily and opportunistic residential assets in US growth markets.
Over the course of a real estate investment career that began in 1989, the offerings Brian manages have acquired over 750 properties, including over 3,000 multifamily units, with the assistance of proprietary software that he wrote himself. Acquired asset classes include single family homes, self storage, mixed-use and large apartment complexes in multiple states. Brian has arranged well over $500 million in debt and equity for Praxis acquisitions. Praxis’ current portfolio exceeds $200 million of real estate assets under management.
Brian is the author of The Hands-Off Investor: An Insider’s Guide to Investing in Passive Real Estate Syndications, and a frequent public speaker at real estate conferences and events nationwide.
Bob brings a wealth of experience as a securities and real estate private equity professional to Praxis Capital, having over $1 billion of transactional experience.
Prior to joining Praxis Capital, he served as Director of Housing Development for PEP Housing where he was responsible for multifamily acquisition, entitlement, financing and construction management of multiple apartment properties. He founded and served as President of Eagle Golf Corporation, a golf course and real estate consulting and development company. Before Eagle, Bob formed the International Division for a large real estate company with sales in excess of $100 million, serving as its Managing Director. As a partner in a boutique investment banking firm, Bob specialized in private placement equity investments for high net worth individuals and pension funds. He began his career in the Wealth Management Division of Dean Witter Reynolds.
He has spoken at many real estate investment conferences and has served as a national instructor for a professional real estate designation program. Bob is a former California BRE and Series 7 & 66 securities licensee, Certified International Property Specialist, Certified Commercial Investment Member candidate, Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist and Certified Business Intermediary.
Having served on the boards of many local non-profit organizations, he was also instrumental in helping a local non-profit affordable housing provider with the acquisition, entitlement, financing and construction of a $20 million affordable housing project for seniors and people with disabilities.
Bob and his wife are the proud parents of four beautiful children. Bob enjoys competitive outrigger canoe racing, golf, and strumming the ukulele.
Jeff serves as Chief Financial Officer for Praxis Capital’s multifamily platform, including PM Residential Management. He is also a member of the Praxis Investment Committee. Having held key executive positions with select national and large regional real estate firms, he brings more than 30 years experience in acquisition, property management and real estate finance.
Most recently, Jeff was a Principal and Chief Financial Officer of The Bethany Group, where he was instrumental in the acquisition and management of more than 24,000 multifamily apartment units valued in excess of $1.7 Billion. Prior to that, he was Vice President at AIMCO, the largest multifamily manager (REIT) in the nation, where he managed West Coast operations in excess of 12,000 units. Previously, he served in several executive positions at both national and regional companies such as Lincoln Property Company (National) and Arnel (Regional) Multifamily Groups. Jeff started his career in 1983, where he served as AVP at Skyline Financial in Washington DC. In that capacity, he was responsible for managing the day to day operations of more than 200 partnerships, consisting of nearly 4,000 real estate properties.
Forrest serves as Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for Praxis Capital’s multifamily platform. In that capacity, he is responsible for investment strategy, including acquisitions and dispositions for the company. He also serves as a member of the Praxis Investment Committee.
Forrest has enjoyed a 20-year+ career in real estate. During that time, he has served as Chief Investment Officer and Chief Financial Officer for both public and private companies. During his tenure, Forrest has successfully closed over 80 transactions; for investments and programs ranging from $10 million to well over $2 billion. He also effectively assembled more than $2 billion in structured financing.
Prior to joining Praxis, Forrest served as interim Chief Financial Officer for First Capital Real Estate, where he successfully oversaw a major upREIT transaction of 30 commercial real estate assets. Before First Capital, Forrest was Chief Financial Officer for Lyon Capital Ventures, where he acquired, renovated, developed and disposed of over 15,000 multi-family units. He also managed the entitlement and conversion of 3,000+ multi-family units to for-sale condos; which was valued in excess of $750M. In that capacity, Forrest also assisted in the financial reporting, both internally and externally, to partners and financial institutions on 100+ LLC/Partnerships/Trusts, etc.
Lyle serves as the President & CEO of PM Residential Management, LLC; the property management division of Praxis Capital’s multifamily platform. He brings over 40 years of multifamily experience with an exceptional record in all phases of property development, acquisition, disposition, financial management, asset management, and general management. Lyle has professionally managed more than 40,000 multifamily units during his career.
Prior to Praxis, he was the founder and President of LTL Investments Inc, a national multifamily investment and management company. Before LTL, Lyle served as the President of Springboard Housing, a nonprofit multifamily company that acquired and managed affordable housing. Previously, he was the President of Grubb & Ellis Residential Management, where he built a national, public multifamily platform. Lyle served as served as Chief Financial Officer of SARES•REGIS Group (formerly Regis Homes) early in his career. Lyle is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of AICPA.
